We spent half a year traveling to various engineering and design schools to see what student teams could hack together using smartphones and 3D printers over the course of a weekend.
Our research into aesthetic customization took the form of MAKEwithX. We made design tools that enabled early Moto X buyers to create one-of-a-kind cases for themselves using our high-tech making equipment.
